New Beginings

Alright, so a lot has happened since I last wrote. We will start with the most important. Andy and I broke up. It happened Monday night as I found out he was being unfaithful. When I asked him about it, he said that he didn't think our relationship could go any farther. He just didn't know how to break up with me. By Tuesday afternoon I had all of my belongings, any and all furniture that me, my family or friends brought into the house, and the dogs out of the house. I moved back in with my parents who have been the best friends I could have ever asked for in this situation. Thankfully my old room is in the finished basement where I have my own living room, bathroom and exercise room turned dog room all separated from the rest of the house. Although my parents weren't thrilled with me moving back in with two large dogs, they have embraced all three of us and have been more then accommodating. They are installing a fence in there back yard!! Woo! So I will be with my parents for the next year or so, so I can pay off my credit card and rebuild my finances. :)

In other news: Deuce had minor surgery on his foot last Monday (before all of this happened). He had a "horny wart" on his pad...it looked like he had a rock in bedded in his foot, so the doctors took it out. He busted the stitches open once, so I had to take him back and get them stapled. I alway find it funny when dogs get any kind of stitches or anything that they need "limited activity for two weeks". I had to give both of my dogs sedatives when Deuce got neutered...so Deuce will just have to live with it if he busts them open again!

So that is what is going on in my life right now. Work is going well...I have several request dogs which help me make money when no one else can!

I am doing fine for all of this. Just to let everyone know. I deep down inside knew that I wasn't happy and that I just pretended it was alright just so I could be in a relationship. I am mad that he cheated, but as for the actual break up...I'm ok with it. I am better off now!

I love you all!!!!

Facebook and squeaky toys!

For a picture tour of Andy and I's trip to St. Louis please go look at my facebook picture folder titled "St. Louis Trip" There are far TOO many pics to put up here, and facebook is faster!

Andy and I have been back for a week. I had a test today and have been trying to study...that didn't work well anyway...hardest class ever!

Work has been going well. I have several request dogs coming to me that have missed me while I was away.

Andy's brother Robert has been visiting for a few weeks. He was here the week we were in St. Louis, and is staying for a few more weeks. The more interesting part of his visit is his Chihuahuas Jack and Jasmine. Surprisingly my dogs have been doing well with them. Deuce leaves them alone for the most part. Roo tries to play with them...she thinks they are squeaky toys....she pushes them enough and they squeak!

Sammy is allergic to fleas and scratched herself to death...$200 later she is all healed up!

Andy and Robert went down to Savannah, GA to visit their sister for the weekend. It was nice and quiet here. Originally Cindy was supposed to come up here. But with her three boys (ages 6, 21 months, and 3 months) with the four dogs, Andy, Robert and me all here...we thought it would be a little crowded...

Finally!

So I finally got around to uploading pictures! The reason it takes so long is because my little cord that you put the memory stick is a cheapo thing that takes forever to the the memory stick in just right so it will read. It's a pain the patoot! So I wait until I have a lot of pictures to upload and then I do it...just to let you know!

Here is our finish kitchen! It took 7 days total and 2 hours to put it all back together and clean. The rain left this wonderful green fuzzy crap all over everything, so everything had to be cleaned before putting it back!

Lindsey came up on Wednesday! She live forever and a day away, so we don't get to see each other too much...this was her turn to come up here, next time I will go down to good ol' Watkinsville! :) We hung out, went shopping for her dog, and had lunch. It was great!

Roo wouldn't get off of her lap...

And here is just a random picture of the kitties. In the winter time they snuggle on the bed all day. Sammy is the darker one, Ivory is the other...

And thank you Aunt Diane for the recipe of pork and chicken and rice! It was great!

Kitchen!

So we have a kitchen again! Woo! It's pretty exciting...and as soon as I remember to bring my camera from work I will take a picture of the new tile. It's very pretty tile. And now that we have our stove and cabinets back I can go and buy food products again! Tonight we were oh so healthy and had ice cream from Bruster's for dinner. Andy had a banana split and shared the bananas with me...so I count that as being a healthy dinner.

Deuce got loose last night. I took the dogs outside at around 10:30 or so and sat on my chair and just let them do their thing and sniff the things that need to be sniffed. There is a giant nasty spider that has made its home on our back porch, so I was watching her waiting for her to catch some buggy for dinner. About 15 minutes or so later Roo started to bark at the pack of Chihuahuas in the back so I called them into the house...Roo came right away...Deuce did not. Now Deuce is my right hand man and he ALWAYS shows up when I call. So I became concerned and called him some more. That's when I saw the gate was wide open to the outside world. Needless to say I panicked and ran in my jammies and barefoot down the stairs through part of the yard and onto our driveway. Deuce was completely lost in the driveway. He's not smart enough to go back in the gate and he didn't know where he was. I was just scared that something would spook him and he would run off and either get hit by a car or get lost and not be able to find his way home. Thankfully when I called him and came running just as fast as he could to me and all was well with the world again. It scared me half to death though. No good....

Work has been good. I have been rackin' up the request dogs lately...at last count of known request dogs was 32. That's a lot for those of you who don't know. I like them because when no one else has any dogs, I always have dogs cause they come to me and me only! Hahah! I rock that way.

School has been good this last week because OH there was no school!! It got cancelled on account that the sky fell down and flooded the whole top half of Georgia. That rocks cause I had a test...and I didn't have to take it! Well..I have to on Monday.

I am going to St. Louis in 1 week and 2 days!! Woo. We can't decide when we want to leave though. I want to leave Tuesday morning. I can pack all day Monday, and then drop the dog's off at their day care in the morning and then off we go. However, Andy wants to leave Monday night! He likes to drive at night...my problem is that I can't help him drive this way because when 10:30 hits I get tired...no matter what. He says he doesn't need help driving (he has driven the 19 hour drive to Texas by himself before), but I think it would be easier if I was awake and could talk to him and stuff. I guess we will just have to see!

Rain rain go away!

So it's been raining pretty much non stop for about 4 days or so...and it's supposed to rain continuously for the next 4 days or so...do you know how much this sucks? Let me tell you...it sucks a lot! Not only is it dark and gloomy outside all day long...but business is slow because what's the point of taking your dog to get groomed and pretty when it's just going to go outside and get all dirty again? sucky...so work has been slow. Also going to school sucks because you have to walk forever and a day from the parking garage to the building in the rain... and worst of all is my dogs. Now I love my dogs but good grief! They are muddy and filthy! And they are making my house muddy and filthy! There is no reason to clean the house because in 10 minutes it's just going to get all yucky again. Roo won't poop in the rain...she has pooped twice in the house because of it... AHH!

Anyway...I don't have any pictures today, but I felt the need to vent out my frustration on this stupid rain and as I was told that some people might delete the link to my blog if I didn't start writing! :)

How about a few pictures?

So here is my life in pictures since my last post...which was forever ago...

My dogs: :) I heart them!
A size comparison:
Stupid face!

Roo in her warmie! She gets cold so I bought her one to stay warm and toasty!

This is what I do at work! Here is a Shih Tzu before
And after! ...and yes this is the same dog!
And here is me at work...actually grooming something!

Our kitchen floor is being redone due to a leak...so they had to rip out everything:

Where is our dishwasher? stove? kitchen sink you ask? ...in our sun room...that's where...

Long time no post

Sorry about the long delay in posting. I didn't know anyone was actually reading this. :)

So I went to PA with my friend Hope at the beginning of the month. It was so much fun! The weather was a little off for the the first two days. It was FREEZING! Ok...it was more like 65, but still it's JULY! The rest of the week however was wonderful. We had 80 degree weather and it was awesome. We went the the Pittsburgh Zoo as I have heard wonderful things about it. It wasn't nearly as big or as awesome as the St. Louis Zoo...but it was nice. Here is Hope and I at the sign!
The 4th of July was wonderful also. We went to the local parade and then went and saw fireworks later that evening. Us at the parade:
Magnus and I in the car on the way up there. He farted the whole way!

My tattoo finally healed up. Here it is! It's the Gemini constellation. I realize that if you do not like tattoos you are not going to like it. But if you can appreciate the meaning and uniqueness of it...it's a kick ass tattoo. I drew the lines on it (in Paint...not on my actual leg), so you can see what it really looks like:
Here it is without the lines:

And finally when I got back from PA I bought a new car!! I traded in my POS Explorer for the Cash for Clunkers law that Obama just passed and got $4,500 for trade in value!! Thanks Obama!

It's Nissan Cube, the collar is called Caribbean Blue. It's the most awesomest car ever!

This is the nifty wrap around window. I always see people commenting on it at red lights! :)

Alright, so there ya go. That's what I have been up to the last couple of weeks!

A: I find you very apeeling!

Tats and Cars

So my tattoo is still not healed all the way yet...so still no pictures. Soon though...very soon...next post probably.

So my POS car is about to die...like road kill die any day now. The new CARS law just passed so as soon as the legality stuff goes through I'M BUYING A NEW CAR!! Brand spankin' new! I'm excited. I am getting a Nissan Cube 1.8 S...in Caribbean Blue. It's very nifty. I can't wait. I just hope my car makes it until then. We can only hope and pray that it makes it for about 30 more days. Fingers crossed!

Work has been good. Business has started to pick up finally, so that's encouraging. However, my wonderful manager Marti is leaving. She is moving in about a month or two...it's really sad. I don't know who will replace her. I can just hope they are nice and don't try to Nazi us around!

I go to Pennsylvania next week with Hope! I can't wait for that too! We are going to the zoo! Woohoo! Fun stuff.

Joke of the day:
Q: What is invisible and smells like carrots?
A: Bunny farts!

Title that pertains to this blog...

This title is for you Uncle Mark! As apparently my titles confuse your little mind, I am going to attempt to make them more clear for you!! :)

So the last week has been very eventful. The weekend not so much, that was work filled, not so fun. Monday my car started to act all funny, it wouldn't go straight into drive. I had to put it in second and then into drive for it to go. So Tuesday Dad came over and we took my poor sad truck to the shop to get looked at. I have been driving Mom's car all week (thankfully they are at Stone Mt. with Kayla so they don't need it!). I also got my tattoo!!!! Woo!! I really like it. It's the Gemini constellation. To just your average person it just looks like a bunch of stars on my leg...but really it has a meaning. I like it because no one else has it....or at least very few people have it. It's different, it's meaningful and it's AWESOME!! I will post pictures once it heals...because healing tattoos are never as pretty as a healed tattoo. :)

Wednesday I noticed a large lump on my poor puppy. :( I took him to the vet last week and they gave him the 3 year rabies, he had a delayed allergic reaction. They vet said if it doesn't go away in a couple of days to stop by and see if he's ok. I have to take him back anyway to get another blood test as the first one showed an elevated white blood count, and that's not good.

Today I shaved 3 dogs at work. However, two of them were Newfoundlands...and they were large...and hairy...and CUTE! Oh, I loved them. I wanted to take them home! The parents actually had four of them, and a Golden Retriever. They got all four Newfies shaved! It was INSANE!

I get my car back tomorrow...they said to pretty much drive it until it dies...that's pretty sad. They said it's not worth fixing until it's dead...fun stuff...let's hope it doesn't die on the side of the road!

Nothing else is new. The new house is awesome, Andy is embracing the yard work. I think he actually enjoys it. He is out there almost everyday doing something. I don't know what he will do in the winter time when there's no yard. :(

So that is the mid week review for you!

Q: What did the boy apple say to the girl apple?
A: I find you very a-peeling!

Happy Birthday to Me!

So Sunday was my birthday. It was also the busiest day at work that I have since I transferred up there! It was great. The more dogs, the more money! Dad made pork chops, so Andy and I went over there for dinner. Mom and Dad gave me a new Wii game for my birthday, so we played it was super fun, except for the fact that they didn't let me win. It WAS my birthday...I think I should have been the winner...

Monday I groomed a dog that desperately needed my help. It was so sad. It was a 10 year old full coated Collie, who had a raw spot on his tail. The owners wanted him shaved so they could see what was underneath the hair so they could take it to the vet. You wanna know what was under the hair? Maggots...that's right maggots, as in baby flies. It was gross, but so sad. I got them all off, and did my best to help him feel better. I am going to call tomorrow to see how he is doing since his vet appointment.

Tuesday and Wednesday were my days off. I hung out with Mom, unpacked yet more boxes, and cleaned the house.

Today I worked, nothing new or fancy! The first boy and girl from So You Think You Can Dance? are going to be kicked off tonight. Burn Notice and Royal Pains are also tonight! These are the things that I wait for!

Joke of the day:
Q: How do you stop a lawyer from drowning?
A: Shoot him before he hits the water!

New house!!

After two years of grooming, today was the first time I had gotten bitten that it had actually punctured the skin...I have been bitten on the face twice...no problem...today a mini schnauzer bit my thumb.  :(  I didn't have to go to the doctor or anything, but still...it happened.  Oh well.  Business has been picking up so that is good.  I am finally making some money!  I just need to get use to actually grooming a lot of dogs all at once again.

The summer is going great so far.  I bought the dogs a Chuck It! which is a toy that throws the ball far distances and you don't have the touch the ball (it gets rather slimy very quickly).  They love it!  I bought Deuce a pool too, but I haven't had time to put it up yet.  I am LOVING this no school thing.  It's great!

Alright!  So I have pictures of the new house!

Dad and Chase is going to be your welcoming comity for today's picture tour!
Here is our hallway with our stupendously bitchy cat Sammy.  :)  This is her favorite spot to lay out right when you are trying to walk down the stairs.
This is the backyard that the dogs love!  This picture really doesn't do it justice...
The front of the house:
Self explanatory but we will title it anyway ... this is the kitchen:
Living room (that couch and recliner are actually leaving and we are getting Mom and Dad's red leather ones!  Also that is a real wood fire place!  The one at Mom's is a "flip the switch on the wall" fireplace  :p
Different angle:
This is the sun room a.k.a. the "misfit toy" room as I call it...it's where the bird cage is and the dog's stuff (cage, food, water, toys...)

So there ya go...our new house!  There are also some bedrooms, but I didn't feel like posting those...their bedrooms nothing special.  Have a grand day everyone!

Joke of the day:
Q: Why did the birthday cake go to the doctor?
A: Because he was feeling crumby!

Movin' On Up!

Alright...so I have been MIA lately.  Here I am!  The last several weeks have been crazy!  We had to pack up the whole apartment and we were running out of room for the boxes, so Rick (our landlord) let us have the key to the house and start moving boxes.  It was great...but as we were looking around the house, I noticed a large leak in the kitchen sink...so much so that the hardwood floor had swollen up and it looked like we had a dead body hidden under the floor.  Nice huh?  So we called Rick and let him know and Andy turned the water off to stop any further damage.  Rick has put a dehumidifier in and if that doesn't work, he is going to have to replace the whole kitchen floor.

So we moved in a little over a week ago.  It took us a week to move everything from the apartment to the house.  The bird stayed over at the apartment for like 3 days (it was so quiet and nice!).  But eventually everything came together.  We didn't have cable or internet for a few days (Comcast sucks by the way), and we have been running around like crazy since the move.  There are still boxes everywhere, but slowly they are going down in numbers.  The house is great...it's a little old so it needs some TLC, but it is great.  The backyard is more then we could have asked for and the dogs love it!

Today I had Mom, Dad, Aaric, Noelle, Kayla, Chase, (brother, sister, niece and nephew) Harold, and Maggie (friends of the parents and me) all come over for lunch.  I made meatball subs for lunch.  Aaric also helped with the shelves as we had none worth a damn in our bedroom.  All of the shelves were falling down, so he helped put them all up.  Andy has been doing a great job fixing up all the "chores".  My camera is broken, so Mom brought her camera and I took several pictures.  As soon as I get them on my computer then I will post for all to see!!

Q: What do call fake spaghetti?
A: Impasta!

Mama always told me not to look into the eye's of the sun

So the weekend was uneventful...thank goodness.  Andy went out of town Friday night to Savannah for his sister's wedding.  Remember now that my parents are out of town...every time that both my parents and Andy go out of town my car breaks.  The first time my window rolled down and then never came back up and I got stuck in the mud at school.  The second time the car wouldn't even start!  The fuel pump something or other broke...$600 later it was fine again.  This time the only thing that went wrong was Deuce was sick...but that is nothing unusual...he just gets like that.  Andy came home Monday.  I had to go down to the Atlanta Greyhound bus station to pick him up.  I took the dogs with me for safety...it's not the best part of town.  They barked at the guys standing around and did their job.  I think big dogs are better safety then guns sometimes...

Last week was the first week I commissioned out!  That was exciting...this week doesn't look as good as we are not that busy.  Why are we not busy you ask?  Because it won't stop raining...it has rained non stop for a week, and it doesn't look like it's going to stop any time soon.

Tuesday we moved some boxes to the new house.  Rick gave me the key so that we could start moving stuff as our apartment was being overtaken by boxes.  We wandered around the house to make sure everything is ok...and I noticed the kitchen sink was leaking.  Andy stopped the leak, but the floor was soaked.  The hardwood was swollen for the water...we called Rick and got that squared away.

Yesterday was a very boring day at work.  We had no dogs, so we put the stock on the shelves.  Boring...but it at least past the time.  Andy's brother Robert had stopped in yesterday morning with his cousin's husband...they are on their way to North Carolina for some stuff...anyway, they stayed here for some rest.  Robert brought his puppy!  He has s 4 month old Chihuahua.  He was so cute.  I had to put my dogs up while he played...but it was hilarious!  He was so small...I didn't even know what to do with him.  So Robert and Eddie left yesterday afternoon, and they will stop back on their way home.  More puppy time!

Today is the last day of school for the semester.  No finals, I just need to sit through some presentations.  Then I'm done!  I am taking the summer off as the class I wanted isn't available.  But that's ok...I need a break!

Joke of the day:
Q:  What do you call two medicine men?
A: Pair-a-medics!

It's been a hard day's night...

Alright, so Monday I went to work.  I only did one dog...but he was an awesome dog.  His name is Rico, and he is a Belgian Malinois.  He use to be a drug sniffing dog and a cadaver search and rescue dog about a year ago.  Then his owner/handler died in a car wreck.  You could tell the dog was scared and had trust issues.  I took him to the back and he bonded with me...it took him a little while to trust Wendy (the bather)...but eventually he did.  He was such a sweet heart.  I felt so bad for him.  His current owner (another cop) had a super strong bond with Rico..you could just tell.  Wendy and I decided it was his friend that died, and he took responsibility for the dog.  The great thing is, he is going to bring Rico in every month, and he is going to request me!  I am so excited!

Tuesday was an exciting day.  I went to put the deposit down for the new house!  I went to the Re Max office which Rick and Donna work.  Rick is my landlord and Donna is his business partner who happens to be a childhood friend.  Convenient!  So I went to put the deposit down, but we are not officially going to be writing up the lease or anything until around May, 15th...just because we still have the apartment through May...no need to pay two rents if you don't have to!  So I get there and give him the money when Donna comes out.  Donna then asks Ricky if we could start to move some boxes in the garage just so we can get them out of the apartment as we do not have that much room.  He said sure...and then gave me the key to the house!  He said go ahead!  Wooo hoo

I also had to go run some errands...go to the bank and pick up my prescription.  Yeah, so my Doc upped my meds...I am now taking twice as much as I was.  The price went from $46 to $95!  A month!  It is soooo not cheap to be sane.  Maybe one day they will make a generic brand of this crap.  But until then...we will be scrounging up the money to keep me normal...

Yesterday work was a normal day at work...nothing worth typing about.

However Roo is worth it.  She was so depressed the other day!  I have never seen a dog just be depressed like that.  I don't know exactly what the problem was.  It might be all the boxes and Andy and I moving all around.  We don't know the particulars as to where Roo came from...so a couple people have suggested it might be that her previous owners moved and just left her.  But I also gave her flea and tick meds that same days, so she might have just not liked that.  Whatever it was, she was breaking my heart!  She wouldn't come to anyone, and when  you went up to her she would look away and not look at  you.  She would take a treat and then go sit on the couch and mope...it was so sad!  Then at night...she always sleeps on the bed...nope not that night, she slept UNDER the bed...she wouldn't get up on the bed for anything.  I was scared she was going to be like this until we moved, but thankfully she was back to normal yesterday.  I gave her a tennis ball, so she is happy again.  Andy is moving a bunch of boxes on Friday to hopefully make more room and take away some of the stress on the dogs.  Two more weeks!

Joke of the day:
Co-workers sympathized with a woman as she complained that her back was really sore from moving furniture.

"Why did you wait until your husband got home?" someone asked.

"I could have," the woman told them. "But the couch is easier to move if he's not on it."

Weekly Update!

Hello hello!  Wednesday was fun stuff...ha!  I worked the morning shift, and at the end of the day I decided to go home and get the dogs and go back up to the store so they could get a bath.  They hadn't had a bath in a few weeks and they STUNK!  So I brought them up there and Deuce did so well!  He walked right up to people and let them pet him.  I think it was because Roo was there and he was more relaxed.  They both got baths and Roo's nail got a fresh coat of hot pink paint!

Thursday was a school day.  Mom and Dad launched the boat and I went with them to learn where the new marina is.  It was fun to drive around and just hang out.  It was beautiful out and sunny and warm!  Mom thought to take a picture after we were already back in the car...  Then it was school time.  Nothing exciting there.  Finals are coming up... I only have one final, so that's good.  We'll just have to see how that goes.

I also went to my psychiatrist some time on Tuesday I think... and we have decided to up the meds and go back to therapy!  I am actually excited about it...I know some of my issues need to be addressed.

Friday was back to work.  Nothing exciting once again.

Saturday was awesome!  Lindsey came up from Watkinsville and spent the day up here.  We went to Mellow Mushroom for lunch.  It was good, even though they burnt our crust a little.  Then we stopped to say hi and bye to Mom and Dad.  They left today for Arkansas...5 weeks this time.  No good.  Anyway, I then took Lindsey to see the new house.  They yard is way overgrown...yuck!  We are getting a riding lawn mower for $100 though...so that's nice.  Off to PetSmart to buy dog food and then back to my house to talk.  It was awesome to see her.  I am planning to go see her (and her new puppy) in June.  I can't wait!

Today was super slow at work.  I didn't do a single dog.  I had the option...but I wouldn't be getting paid for it, so I gave it Shelley who got something out of it.  I can't wait until we get busier!

Packing is still in motion.  It's going a little slower then I would like.  But I don't really know where to start.  I need to get the ball on the road though...I don't have that much time left!

Slacker!!

Ok, so I totally realize that I haven't updated.  But let's face it...we all have facebook, and that one is more fun!  ...but it is true you don't get the details there...so here it goes....  :)

The new store is great.  It's still a little slow, but it's an awesome store and it is slowly growing the customers!!  During the grand opening, there was a drawing for free grooming for a year....so the dog who won this prize came in the other day for his free groom.  He was a super cute lab mix with a little under bite!  He was large (maybe 75 - 80 lbs.), and beautiful.  We took him from his dad and I put him in his cage....and that's where it ended...he became Cujo!  We couldn't even get him out of the cage, must less give him a bath!  It was really sad.  We knew this would happen...of course it couldn't have happened to a cute little Maltese...but a terrified dog who has never had a professional bath in his four years of living...fun times.  It came down to the fact that we had to call dad and have him come get the dog.  The owner has another dog which he will have to apply the free grooms for...  we can only hope the chihuahua/pit bull mix has the better temperament...yeah right...

My high school best friend Cassi got married on Sunday!  That was fun.  Sadly Cassi and don't talk to much anymore...she lives far away...I have no life.  But it was great to see her!  Her wedding was beautiful and it was good to see everyone who I have not seen in years.  :)  *sigh* maybe one day I will get married....I'm starting to loose hope...

On that note...my doctor is upping the meds!  I also have to go back to the therapist...apparently it's not normal to think the worst of every situation that comes to me....who knew?

We move next month...sooner rather then later now.  Apparently someone else wanted the house, and we can't have that happen.  So therefore we need to give him the whole month's rent to secure our place...we don't have time to find a new place that will accept our dogs...dobermans and 100 lbs mastiffs are not the widely loved...  :(

School is almost over.  I have 3 weeks left!  It will be so nice.  I am taking the summer off.  I need a vacation!

Oh!  My oldest brother, Brian, and my sister-in-law, Stephanie, are expecting a baby!  S/he is due in December!  I will be an Aunt again!  All the cool kids are doing it!  I am excited for them...and I know they are happy!

Today is Deuce and mine's 1 year anniversary!  A year ago today we drove up to South Carolina to get him!  He was only 10 lbs...he's 100 now...best dog ever!  I love him to death!  And I wouldn't trade him for the world!

Well that's all the news worth typing out.  I will try not to wait so long in between posts next time.  Until then...!

Q:  What kind of shoes to mice wear?
A:  Squeakers!

Happy Easter

I made it through the week.  I ended up with an 80 on my Modern Algebra test...woo hoo!  All because I just showed up to class!  This weekend was alright.  Friday and Saturday were normal...not as busy as Woodstock, but busy enough.  Yesterday was boring.  It was Easter Sunday so we were slow.  We had two dogs all day.  I didn't get either one of them.  The good thing was there was nothing to do in the entire store, so the managers weren't upset when we were sitting around drinking cokes, eating candy, playing sudoku, and Shelley was doing a research paper on her laptop!  We just sat and talked and stared at the wall.  Fun times.

We move next week...hopefully.  Andy has tried to email Rick, the landlord, twice with two different email addresses, and he hasn't responded to either one of them.  I tried and called him, but his number has changed.  I sent a message to Donna, his business partner, who I have known since I was young, and I am still waiting for her to respond (I just sent it).  Hopefully everything will work out, we really like this house!

A:  Foosball!

Sadie

New Developments Not All Are Good

Ok, so new things since last post.   Monday was a plain work day...I did four dogs which was nice.  It's spring break, so people can bring their dogs in more this week.  Exciting!

Tuesday I spent the day with the dogs.  I took them to Mom's house and hung out there for a while.  I also went to the Woodstock PetSmart to say hello to everyone.  School was ok, I got a 74 on my Differential Equations test...one of the one I thought I failed...so that's good.

Now for the bad part.  Sadly my parents have decided it's time for our family dog, Sadie, to say goodbye.  She just turned 16 last Wednesday...and she shows her age.  She's blind, deaf, limping, has lumps and bumps.  She isn't happy and is constantly confused.  I agree with their decision.  It's very sad though.  We got her when I was 8.  I am going to remember the good times with her.  I remember putting shirts, belts and necklaces, ... pretty much anything I could find on her to dress her up.  My friends and I use to take her for walks to the front of the neighborhood.  I remember tying her up to the garage and giving her baths...  I remember trying to give her bananas in a drunken stupor...thinking she would like them...I remember the day we got her.  I will miss her very much.  She has had a good life, and I will remember her always.  I don't know when the day is or the time.  I will know when my mom hands me her collar.  I will put it in my rear view mirror with Corrie's collar...and there it will hang.  I will miss her.

Grand Opening

Well the grand opening weekend of the Canton store went well.  It was crazy busy! ..but no major catastrophes.  I did 4 dogs yesterday and 4 dogs today...that's not bad as it's the first weekend of the store being open.  The people are very nice...both the employees and the customers.  No more Psycho Sundays!  I even got tips!!  I also got two new request dogs already...this is promising.  :)  The drive is a little longer, but only by 10 minutes, it's not bad at all.  We move next month!!  So it won't be too much longer of this current drive.

Nothing new other then that!

A:  So he wouldn't fall into the hot chocolate!

Woo, business!

So today I did three dogs at work.  That's pretty good as we haven't even had the grand opening yet.  I'm sure this store will busy soon enough.  Exciting.

We are moving next month!!  I filled out the notice to vacate form for the apartment.  They are all sad that I am going to leave at the leasing office.  They love the dogs.  It will be sad to leave, but at the same time they need that yard.

Yesterday was a horrible day at school.  I had a test that I didn't do too hot on.  I also had to turn in a take home test that I'm sure I didn't do too hot on that one either.  Oh well...just keep truckin'.  Other then that nothing new worth typing out.  Talk to you later!

A:  They have buck teeth!

Take home

I have been working on a take home test since last Tuesday...so my life has been a little preoccupied by that..that is my excuse for the lack of updates this week.

Sometime last week...I think Thursday night...Andy and I were both off, so I decided I wanted to take the dogs to Top Dog, a dog boutique near the mall, to try and find Deuce a stud collar.  Andy came with me as I can not handle both of them in a small room with breakables...  Sadly, there were no stud collars...only spike collars...which I do not want.  However, they had shirts big enough for my young stud of a dog.  So I felt compelled to buy him one:

There was another shirt that I wanted to buy him, it said "I miss my balls" and had a tennis ball and football on it.  Unfortunately they didn't have his size.  :(

Andy then felt bad because Deuce got something and Roo didn't, so he bought her a toy (and they both got a fancy dog treat).  Here is Roo playing with her new toy...I have never seen her lay with back legs like this...so I felt the need to take a picture.  She is so cute!  Look at her little nubby!

So anyway...Friday and Saturday consisted of the usual work day for me.  Sunday was a bitter sweet day though.  It was my last day at the Woodstock location.  I got my job at PetSmart when I was 16 at that store.  I have been there faithfully for 7 years now.  It was time for a change, and for my sanity as I did not get along wonderfully with my manager (we both agree on this subject).  It was sad, but also exciting.  I think it is an honor to be chosen to open a brand new store.  So yay for me!  I will miss working with all of my friends though.

Monday was my first day at the new store (in Canton).  It is a beautiful store.  The grooming salon is awesome.  It's twice as big as the one I am use to.  There aren't as many crates, but there are spaces for more.  I even get my own table way in the back.  :)  My manager is awesome (Marti was my manager before at the Woodstock store...she trained me), and Shelley is from the Woodstock store also... I like her and I get along with her.  I met one girl from the Kennesaw store that will be working part time there...she is nice.  Let's just wait and see how cool the others are!

Today I turn in my take home test.  Woo!  It's my last one for this class.  Andy's brother and his friend are supposed to be coming tonight and staying for just the night.  We will see how that goes..as Deuce is scared of strangers, and this is two dudes he has never met.  Fun times!

Q:  What do you call a fish with 10 eyes?
A: A fiiiiiiiiiish!!

Oops

Ok so it's been a week since I last updated.  I'm bad.  Friday, Saturday, and Sunday SUCKED!!  It was soooo busy and crazy.  I left 30-45 minutes late all three days.  Sunday I left at 5 and had to be back at 7:30 for a two hour meeting.  It didn't even have anything to do with grooming...it was all sales floor stuff.  Lame.

Friday I did meet with Amy to help wrap my head around Differential Equations.  It helped, there are plans to meet her tomorrow for more help.  Either way I hate school.  I have a take home test from Modern I am currently working on as well.

This week has been slow at work.  It's nice, but it also sucks.  My last day at this store is Sunday, and because the grand opening of my new store is next week...all the big wig managers are making their way to that store for the ribbon cutting.  The problem is they are stopping at all of the other stores on their way.  So therefore we have to clean every inch of the place.  As we are slow, we have time to do so...but eventually you have to make up things to clean...because the room is only so large and with 6 people cleaning...you run out of things to do.

The good thing about today is that I only have one class.  Modern was canceled because my prof. has to go to Illinois...Andy is off today too.  The bad thing...I'm sick.  I can't talk and I keep coughing mucus...it's no fun.

Sorry about the delays!

Joke of the day:
So this blonde decides to try to go horseback riding even though she has no idea how to do it. One day, the blonde finds a horse and decides to try it out. She tries to mount the horse several times, but she fails each time. Finally, she successfully mounts the horse when it suddenly starts galloping at a rhythmic speed. Scared, the blonde starts to slowly slip off of the horse. At first, she tried grabbing the mane, but her hand slips and she heads closer to the ground. Then she reaches for the horse’s neck, but she kept slipping. Finally, the blonde decided that jumping off of the horse was the only way to get off. So she leaps but her foot gets caught in the stirrup and she is flung to the ground. By now, the blonde’s head was repeatedly slammed into the ground and she was at the mercy of the horse’s giant hooves. She was just about to lose consciousness when the most lucky thing happened to her:
Dave, an employee at Walmart, sees the situation and unplugs the horse.

Roo

I take Deuce everywhere.  I take him to my parent's house.  I take him to training classes.  Doing errands etc... He may not be the friendliest towards strangers, but he is a good dog.  He doesn't cry in the car, he walks wonderfully on the leash, and he just sits patiently when I need him to.  Roo does not.  She cries that high pitch deafening cry, paces, pulls on the leash, barks, and jumps on people.  Hence...I never take her anywhere.  Well today, she got to places.  She has been "leaking" pee for about two months now.  I thought it was a fluke, but she won't stop.  She doesn't do it on purpose...mostly when she is laying down or sleeping.  So today we took an adventure to the vet.  Turns out this is a common problem with spayed female Dobermans.  Roo now gets to take medicine twice a day for the rest of her life to help her bladder muscles stay strong.  *sigh* So sad.  I took her to PetSmart afterwards to get some attention and treats (and to get cat food and dog toothpaste).  I painted her nails while I was there.  I haven't done that in a while as I ran out of nail polish.  She is so much pretty with her hot pink toe nails.

The rest of today will consist of school.  Blah.  Work has been slow.  I only did one dog on Monday.  And two on Wednesday.  One of the dogs on Wednesday was a Chow Chow though...at least I made money on that dog.

More news later!

Joke of the day:
It's the dead of night and into the front room of a house comes a flash of light. It's burglar Bill and he is holding a torch.
As he looks about for things to take he hears a voice, the voice is saying
"Jesus is watching you".
Obviously startled by this the burglar turns toward the voice and to his surprise he finds a parrot in a cage.
Walking toward the parrot he asks "did you just say something little parrot?".
Yes I did Mr burglar I said "Jesus is watching you".
Well parrot if you think that you are being cleaver by appealing to my conscience you are sadly mistaken, said the burglar.
"No Mr burglar you are missing the point Jesus
IS watching you" said the parrot.
Now I understand Mr parrot is your name is Jesus by any chance?
Oh no Mr burglar my name is Poly, Jesus is the Doberman standing behind you.

Headache

Work work work...that's all I have done.  That and watch the entire first season of Numbers.  That's a good show...for those of you who watch tv.  Thanks Mom for getting me hooked on it!  Spring break is pretty much over.  Obviously I haven't done anything that exciting.  I had a very busy work day today.  I did 7 dogs and two of them were large and hairy.  I got done at 8:30 when we close at 9:00.  I had a huge headache for the last 3 dogs.  It sucked.  And I get to do it again tomorrow!  And now Roo wont go the damn bathroom because Heaven forbid it's raining outside.

Weekend Warriors

Sunday was supper fun.  Hope and I went to the pet fair.  The pet fair is a grooming convention here in Atlanta.  They have anything and everything available for your grooming needs.  Last year I spent a fortune there, this year I was a little more sensible...but I also just didn't need as much.  I bought a couple of blades and an undercoat brush.  The most exciting thing was I got to meet Will...who was a groomer on the show "Groomer Has It".  It's a reality show for groomers...really cool!  He wasn't my favorite person...but it was still cool to meet him!

Monday SUCKED!!!!!!!!  I went to work and groomed two dogs.  Then I had to go the doctor's office.  Remember when I told you about the fingernail?  Yeah, well, dog hair got all up stuck under it and my wonderful managers were scared that I was going to get it infected.  So they had to call the med. care line and they told me I had to go to the doctor for workman's comp.  I spent 4 hours there...  They ended up having to soak the nail four different times because they kept digging in it to get all of the hair out.  In the end, they cut off all of the dead nail (so now I only have half a finger nail), and put me in a lot of pain.  It sucked.  The good thing is that I got to go home early.  Andy came home that same day, so I got to spend the evening with him.

Today Andy and I went to Mom and Dad's house and then drove to a house that a family friend has up for rent.  It was a really cute house with a HUGE fenced in yard.  I'm really excited.  We will move in in May.  Woo!

Joke of the day:
Q.  Why do fish live in salt water?
A.  Because pepper makes them sneeze

House Hunting and Schnauzers

Wednesday consisted of me taking the dogs to day care and going to work.  Nothing exciting.

Thursday was fun though.  I got up and went to Mom's house at 8.  Dad made me  a breakfast sandwich and off we went to go house hunting.  The first house we looked at was for sale for $80,000.  It was labeled as a "fixer upper".  This was an understatement.  I'm pretty sure it was unlivable for the first two months of "fixing up" the place.  It had yellow shag carpet...

We then just drove around to several neighborhoods.  Every time we saw a new street we would drive down it.  We found a few houses.  We were trying to stay close to the highway for convenience sake...but I don't know how that's going to work in the end.  I called a ton of houses and the few that have called me back are either too high in price, or doesn't want any pets, only wants one dog, or doesn't allow Dobermans, poor Roo.  I am still waiting on some houses and we are also going to continue the search on Tuesday.

Friday I slept in.  A little too long actually.  I did get up until 11, and as I had to work at 12:30 I didn't do much of anything.  I haven't slept in in a while though...so it felt good.  Friday night was interesting for about 30 seconds.  At 11 (pm) I was walking the dogs one last time before we went to bed.  About half way through the parking lot I heard a dog barking fairly close to me.  So I stopped and locked both of the dog's flexi leashes so I could locate the other dog. Sure enough this little Schnauzer comes hauling ass around the corner, barking and growling straight at us.  Both of my dogs snapped...they both tried to take out this dog.  Thank God that I had them on short leashes so I could semi keep them under control.  The dog came about 6 to 10 feet in front of us, and as I was preparing to kick this thing as hard as I could to keep it from getting killed, he realized...oh shit, those dogs are bigger then me...and he backed off and circled (still barking mind you).  I yelled for someone to come get their dog and some lady come running out after it yelling at it to get back in the car.  Thankfully the dog listened to her, and went away.  I wanted to yell at her about leash laws, but my nerves were shot.  I was literally shaking.  In the end everything was ok.  But if that dog got any closer, I don't know if I would have turned out the same.  Deuce isn't fond of other dogs anyway...but Roo doesn't like things just sneaking up on us in the dark.  So yeah, good times.

No joke today, just this wonderfully funny video:  "Sleepwalking Fail!"

Texas, Escaped Fugitive, and Bills Oh My!!

Today was an eventful day. It started out this morning with waking up early to take Andy to the airport. He is off to Texas to see his mom and family. He will be back on the 9th. Until then, Deuce gets to sleep on the bed, and they will be my only guard dogs. :)

Then I drove up to the Canton store to see if I could go inside and investigate. Alas, the little worker people wouldn't let me in. So sad. So I drove up to Mom's house and hung out for a while. Then off to go home to go to school.

I eventually left to go to school. When I got there, there were a ton of cop cars all around. Six in one parking lot alone. So I just thought they were doing routine checks or something. I went to the building and sat in the hall to wait for class to start. It turns out there was an escaped larsen convicted man that got away and ran onto campus. So they were looking for him. It was odd. But class was to continue. After about 30 minutes I kept seeing a lot of people leaving the building and I told my friend we were evacuating. Sure enough we were. A couple of minutes later two cops came into our class room and told us to gather our personal belongings and evacuate. Apparently the fugitive was last seen in or around our building. After about 15 minutes of just standing out there, a couple of us decided to go find our next class's prof. so we could see if class was canceled. We never found her, but we found out from other prof.s that class was canceled for the rest of the day! Woohoo! So I said peace out and left.

After that I went home, payed some bills and watched tv. Other then sending Andy off, it was a good day.

Joke of the day:
Q: What do you get when a cold dog sits on a rabbit?
A: A chilly dog on a bun!

Days of Deuce

The past several days were revolved around Deuce.  :)  Friday was his graduation from Intermediate Training Class.  He was the star pupil of two.  Yes he snaps at other dogs.  But he learns, listens and responds WAY better then the other dog in his class.  He even got to do agility jumps at the end.  So cute!  Here is his graduation picture!

And then Saturday was his birthday!  I had to work most of the morning and then I went to Mom and Dad's house for Kayla's (my niece) birthday dinner.  Spaghetti and red velvet cake.  Yummy!  I did get into a little bit of trouble at work.  Stupid bi-polar.  The problem is that everyone else is accepting of this and realizes that I can be a little testy sometimes...everyone except my manager.  Ahh, whatever.

Here is the birthday boy!  With his birthday smores from a doggie boutique.  That's water in the cups...that was Andy's touch to the party!

Roo dressed up for his birthday!  Look at her pretty little tutu.

Deuce ate his like an Oreo. He opened it up and licked out the middle just like an Oreo cookie.
Where as Roo ate hers like a dog eats anything.  She chowed down on it!

So that was the weekend of Deuce!

Joke of the Day:
Q:  Why was the cookie so sad?
A:  He was feeling crumby!
